Messengers
Production duo of
Kevin Beadle & Darren Moss.
They met in 1995 when Kev was running label Clean Up Records a sub label of One Little Indian Records (Bjork, Shamen, Skunk Anansie). Darren was working with writing production partner Paul Robinson as ESSEN.
Kev signed Essen in 1996 and released their debut LP King Size Blues in 1998. Consequently though the album and short UK tour was well received it ultimately failed to ignite.

However Dazz and Kev remained friends and in 2001 they formed Messengers. The initial idea was Kev raiding his vast vinyl collection for classic rare grooves from which they’d sample choice elements to produce contemporary re edits remixes and re workings.
From Darren’s studio in the Saga Centre, West London, they produced a collection of tracks together. Utilizing Kev’s original soul, jazz and latin musical background spliced with Darren’s alternative electronic dance musical tastes and production skills. Subsequently crafting an eclectic collection of tracks. Additional musical and vocal flavours were introduced courtesy of the legend Tim Hutton (Prodigy/Dub Pistols) on Brassillia, Around The Sun and Beautiful Sun and Camelle Hinds (Central Line) on Succumb.

Messengers released several well received 12″ remixes and re-edits through Goya Distribution. Notably How True a remix of Nina Simone Save Me a powerful broken beat minimal mix using offcut vocals from the original tape. Likewise Menina a latin house party banger from the album We Are..
They also released a broken beat 12″ vinyl ‘Spectacular’ in 2004 an original production featuring Anthea and Kapulet.
